Sarah Collins is a tribal attorney with a focused practice serving Paiute Shoshone clients across Nevada. She has taught for over ten years, and volunteers for the University of Arizona’s Master and Legal Studies program. She was awarded the esteemed Battle Born Racial Justice Fellow of Nevada Legal Services where she led research, data analysis, and evidence building for the Civil Gideon Project, culminating in a seminar for legal scholars on systemic racism in Nevada civil courts. During her externship she worked with a land management company reviewing and revising its covenants and bylaws.
Her practice areas include tribal civil, criminal, estate, and business matters. She specializes in tribal jurisdiction and tribal courts, VAWA’s special domestic violence criminal jurisdiction, the ICWA, and the relationship between tribal, state, and federal courts. Her interests include natural resources and mining laws.
Professor Collins holds a juris doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
